Language Testing Services (LTS) first ran the conference back in 2017 with the aim of giving all those involved in English language teaching the chance to keep up to date with the latest developments in the industry. Since then, we have held 3 conferences in which we were delighted to welcome an excellent line-up of ELT professionals who all contributed to their success. Again, this year, we are honoured to host a wide range of speakers all of whom are experts in their field.

None of this would be possible without the collaboration of our sponsors, who have supported us from the very beginning and have given us the opportunity to bring some world-class speakers to the Basque Country. We are also incredibly grateful to the hundreds of teachers who have attended our conferences and who have all helped to make them days to remember.

WHO IS
IT FOR?

The ELT Conference is attended by a wide range of teaching professionals. There are academy teachers, early childhood, primary and secondary school teachers, university lecturers, as well as teacher trainers.

Publishers, suppliers of educational resources, researchers and authors of national and international renown also participate in the Convention.

WHAT WE
OFFER?

The conference offers participants a wide range of presentations from both national and international speakers, including plenary and keynote addresses and round table debates.

This conference aims to identify the most important trends for the future of English language teaching, identifying the challenges facing educators and showcasing the most innovative models for improvement.

Don’t miss the most important event in the sector – see you at the ELT Conference!

“UNPLUG
FOR
CONNECTION”

Digitalisation has been a buzz word in teaching for the past decade, and this term took on a whole new meaning when the pandemic turned our way of teaching upside down. During this time, we have been encouraged to believe that the classroom is only effective if it is full of the latest technological aids. Indeed, teachers have spent hours of their valuable time on training and gaining new knowledge to enable them to adapt to their ever-changing working environment.

Do teachers rely too much on digital tools in the classroom at the expense of implementing and developing their teaching skills? Are students so focussed on their screens that they have lost the ability to communicate effectively? Should we be considering a return to paper in order to help students connect more with the material? In this round-table discussion, we will evaluate whether digitalisation has affected our students’ ability to make a meaningful connection with the language they are studying, and our ability to make meaningful connections with our students. Maybe, just maybe, we need to unplug to be able to connect.
